The Fire In My Eyes eBook Christopher Nelson
Kid goes to college, learns he has special abilities, meets girl, meets another girl, lololols ensue, faces get smashed, road trips are had, good times.A good mix of mundane college life and supernatural fun. The main romantic relationship was rage inducing, but in a good way. Could have done with a little more progression with the powers rather than seemingly random leaps forward and backward. All around good.

The Fire In My Eyes eBook Christopher Nelson Reviews
Looking forward to the next book. This one was just the right mix of, "Good guy kicks the bad guy's butt and gets the girl."
I really enjoyed this book. There were several times I wanted to slap the characters around, they seem almost too oblivious, but I really hope there will be a follow up book soon
Interesting story-line, but the plot just seems to be following a teen with super powers as he tries to 'find himself'. The main character is angsty, judgmental and a bit of a hypocrite. Where his loyalties lie is still at loose ends by the end of the book. Maybe a sequel will help, only time will tell.
It isn't Shakespeare, but definitely falls into the category of "a darn good read!". Entertaining, draws you in more and more as the story progresses, and definitely leaves you anxious for the sequel. Definitely a surprise - I enjoyed it thoroughly.
Some of the book dragged and was redundant (how many fights between Shade and the protagonist do we need?) but on the whole character development and story line development were very good. Romance development was also good as was that of the female characters. Something wasn't right with Nikii by the end of the book but it was hard to tell if the author just lost the character or if there is something big we're missing with her. This needs a sequel fast!
There are a lot of 'coming of age, kid with superpowers' novels out there. What sets this book apart from the rest is that it feels original and is set in college, which isn't the norm with most YA urban fantasy. The characters seemed real and even relate able. This book is a nice change of pace from the hundreds of novels that have a 'chosen one' prophesy about the main protagonist saving the world and etc. I like how I couldn't predict what was going to happen throughout the book. All in all it's a solid read and the ending leaves you begging the author to hurry up and finish the sequel.
Interesting story but started out really slow, not a building just slow. I wasn't sure where it was going but it did pick up and get better - much better. I will be purchasing the next book! Many interesting threads and where the story will be taken. It could get really good, to falling flat, or just ok but worth time and cost to me.
